BotsBurgh (FTC Team #11792) organized its fourth Robotics Petting Zoo at the Upper
St. Clair Township Library. Team members Sambhav Saggi, Shresht Rawat, Ben Ross, Liam Moriarty, and Komel Nulwala collaborated with Head of Youth Services Colleen Miles to execute this event.
Children from Upper St. Clair and surrounding communities built robot pets out of craft
supplies and the Hummingbird robotics kit. While indulging in their creative sides, they learned the basics of robotics, implemented logic in code, and learned how to gather data from sensors to perform autonomous functions.
Team members mentored the participants in building their robot pets. These robot pets
were displayed at Community Day on May 21 and the Robotics Showcase on May 26, 2022. BotsBurgh and Upper St. Clair Township Library look forward to organizing more petting zoo events in the future to engage the community youth.
